The PTSA recognizes that math is a critical skill for our Lakeview students and spends several thousand dollars supporting math enrichment programs.
Dreambox
Helps students of all ability levels to develop fluency with their basic facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. PTSA has paid for a subscription; please see your teacher for username and password data.
Math Olympiad
This club is a fantastic way for fifth grade students to be exposed to new math concepts, work together in groups, and have a lot of fun in the process. Members meet during their lunchtime one day a week. In the fall and winter, math club members participate in the National Math Olympiad, which is a series of five highly challenging tests. In the spring, students begin preparation for a team contest held in May.
Zeno Math Challenges
Each month students have the opportunity to solve math challenges and win prizes. The challenges are broken out into two groups: K-2 and 3-5. Check the Zeno Math bulletin board near the office for a copy of the latest monthly challenge or to see the winners from previous months.
